Sugar Cookies



These are simply the best sugar cookies i have ever had.

The recipe is as follows:


  • All Purpose Flour – 2 cups
  • Baking Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – pinch
  • Unsalted Butter –  115 grams
  • Granulated Sugar – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Vanilla Essence – 1 teaspoon


  • In large bowl, sieve flour, baking powder, and salt
  • With an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  • Beat in egg and vanilla
  • With mixer on low, gradually add flour mixture; beat until combined
  • Divide dough in half; flatten into disks and wrap each in plastic; refrigerate for at least 40 minute
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • Line baking sheets with parchment
  • Roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thick dusting dough with flour as needed. Cut shapes with cookie cutters
  • Using a spatula, transfer to prepared baking sheets
  • Reroll scraps; cut shapes. Repeat with remaining dough
  • Bake, rotating halfway through, until edges are golden, 10 to 18 minutes (depending on size)
  • Cool completely on wire racks

These cookies can be decorated with royal icing or any other topping of your choice
